Jumbo or "Cole" jaws are used for gripping the highest of a bowl in compression or enlargement mode, permitting you to complete the underside of the bowl. The jaw set comes with eight buttons which could be positioned within the numerous gap places to accommodate quite a lot of bowl sizes. Cole Jaws (no matter model) are designed for mild ending cuts on the foot of a bowl or platter. They"re designed for heavy cuts, because the buttons don"t present sufficient holding energy to maintain the piece securely in place. They have to be used at sluggish speeds (500 RPM or slower), with the tailstock stay middle in place and by no means in reverse rotation. Our new design is produced from light-weight forged aluminum for much less inertia as in comparison with the unique metal design.
